Since visiting the Heartwood Forest, specifically Langley Woods, in Sandridge I have become incredibly fascinated about Hornbeams, and slightly obsessed with drawing and painting them. Some end up in twisted and unusual shapes that are wonderful to draw and paint. Each tree has its own personality, and collectively they create woodlands that can feel eerie, gothic or fairytale like.
