This watercolour painting is based off a real tree in Langley Woods, right in the middle of the Woodland Trust's Heartwood Forest. A Hornbeam, standing alone on the corner, it's trunk like nothing I've seen before with it's almost animalistic shape. Growing from it are lots of little shoots, new life always finds a way.
